Confused about Financial Crisis?

Are you like this baby, who is confused about all this talk of the Financial Crisis?

What Crisis?

What Crisis?

Read this article to get caught up on what is going on!!!

Here are some of the things they talk about:

1. It all began with cheap money. To prop up ailing economies early in this decade, central banks in the U.S. and Japan kept interest rates unusually low, which encouraged speculation. In the U.S., the Federal Reserve lowered the federal funds rate — the rate that banks charge each other for overnight loans and a barometer for the cost of borrowing money on a short-term basis — from 6.5% in 2000 to 1% by mid 2003. Cheap money quickly ignited a sharp rise in home values in virtually every corner of the country.

15. Don’t lose hope. A financial panic causes people to lose their ability to reason. But just because a panic can end in utter economic disaster doesn’t mean that it will. Just as banker J. Pierpont Morgan could quell the Panic of 1907 by walking onto the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and buying bank stocks, so too could decisive government action contain the Panic of 2008. You may not know the outcome of this drama for weeks or months to come. Until you do, the best course of action might be … to do nothing.

You will feel smarter after reading it. Trust me.

Rock Band 2=Might as well take up playing an instrument, FOR REAL

I just browsed through an article on Rock Band 2. According to the article, if you want to get the “Ultimate Drum Experience”, you will need to buy the ION Drum Rocker (pictured below) for $300. For that much (plus the price of the game), why not just get a set of real drums on Craigslist and learn that?

"The Ultimate Drum Experience"

I guess its like people who like playing Sims, and making their Sim do things rather than actually doing it themselves.

I am addicted to SWAP TREE

I just joined Swap Tree, and I can’t get enough of it! If you don’t know what it is, Swap Tree is a website where you can post stuff you would like to have and stuff you are willing to trade. If there is a match with what you want and what you have that the other person wants, it will notify you of a possible trade. You can then accept or reject it. All you have to pay is shipping, the rest is FREE!!! So, the past couple of days, I have been posting all the stuff I am willing to give up to, and putting a ton of stuff that I want. I hope I can get some cool stuff!!!

Hurricanes Ike No Joke

There are some pretty crazy looking pictures of the damage that Hurricane Ike left in Texas.

Here is one:

Crazy.

Crazy.

Here is a quote from Jon Bloom, a blogger at Desiring God, on the hurricane and its effects:

The Lord of every storm and every rain drop and every wind gust and every house and every street and every tree and every power line and every car and every life will “never leave you nor forsake you. Therefore we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper, I will not fear, what can man [or nature] do to me’” (Heb 13:5-6).

For I am sure that neither tribulation nor distress nor persecution nor famine nor nakedness nor sword nor death nor life nor angels nor rulers nor things present nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:35, 38-39).

Ike is no match for Jesus Christ. Even the winds and water obey his commands (Luke 8:25). All his disciples are safe in his boat, even as the winds rage and the waves slap over the sides.
