That’s My Funday

Yesterday was the first time I played basketbal since my finger injury a couple of months ago. Just some advice, if you haven’t played sports in several months, you should probably ease back into it. That is definetly not what I did yesterday. I went to go play in the morning, and during the first game, I was ready to pass out. I will add that it was really hot yesterday. After playing basketball in the morning, we went to the park with Julianne’s brothers and sisters. I played basketball with the boys. After that, I was pretty dead. I didn’t know how dead until this morning, when every part of my body was hurting. I can barely walk without wincing. No pain no gain, right?

Stupid Dolphins lost again today. I’ll just be like every Miami fan and say that we stink and will never win anything. Then, when we get on a win streak, I will say we are going to the Super Bowl.

Not too much else is going on. My Casting Crowns video has 1,400 views. Pretty sweet.

Oh, well just another Funday. Then back to the Manic Monday. Boo.

Stealing Links From a Missionary

Tonight is the controversial season premiere of Survivor. If you haven’t heard already, this season is different because the tribes are separated by races: Asian, White, Black and Hispanic. Some people think this will promote racism. I don’t think it will. It’s like the Olympics, but on an island and you get to vote people off. No one thinks the Olympics is racist, right? I think it will get some pretty good ratings. I really haven’t seen any of the Survivors since the first one. I think the the Asians will win. Go China! Woooooooooo!

While I was checking out James’ blog and he said some pretty cool links, which I will steal now. They are pretty cool.

The Purpose Driven Message Bible is really funny. Thanks James!

Back to Survivor. Go Asians!

I’d Prolly End Up Eating It…

Yesterday, Terry showed me the new line of iPods that Apple was releasing. One was of particluar interest, which hailed itself as the “world’s smallest digital music player”. This thing is really, really small. Check it:

If I owned that, I would probably lose it.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, Desiring God just got a new makeover. Even better, it has more resources, like EVERY MESSAGE that John Piper has every preached is available on audio, for FREE. That is really awesome. Not too many famous preachers do that. You usually have to fork over a nice chunk of cash. But, as Bob Allen, who is the voice of Desiring God Radio, says “We aren’t here to make money.” That is some good stuff.

I have a lot to update, but I don’t feel like updating on it yet. So, I’ll just put a YouTube video.

For some reason, this ninja seems like a ripoff of StrongBad. The new Strong Bad e-mail has a record high 23 butt pats! (I guess you’ll have to watch it to know what I’m talking about)

Five Years Later

It is pretty crazy to think that it has been 5 years already since the attacks on the World Trade Center. I don’t any of us will ever be able to forget where we were that day. I was in the copy center at UCF, making copies of a book I didn’t want to buy. The girl who’s book I was borrowing got a phone call from her friend, and after she got off the phone, she said, “They bombed the World Trade Center!”. I can remember how I reacted in disbelief. “No way, we are America, nothing happens to us.” As soon as I got in my car, I turned on the radio. It took awhile to figure out what was happening. What a horrific day.

Just about every news station has a special on 9/11 today. I was thinking about posting some videos from YouTube, but it is just too somber and serious to just put on a blog like any other video.

I just finished listening to an interview of John Piper commemorating the fifth anniversary of September 11. It is really encouraging.

Also, if you are interested, the complete 9/11 Commission Report is available on-line, for free. It is pretty interesting, but very long. (About 585 pages)

This is a picture of what will be the New World Trade Center.

“Aw, man, am I a woman?”

I think I am going to start jogging every morning from now on. Deb and I did it when we were out in Cali, and I must say, I haven’t felt that refreshed in along time. I was alert and awake the whole day! It was a pretty good feeling. Something about exercise in the morning clears your brain and gives you energy the rest of the day, without drinking coffee or tea.

I did it this morning and it was awesome. It was really nice to jog outside, because of all the trees around the neighborhood I live in. It was also a good reason to get outside and be seen by some of the neighbors, since I rarely go outside. Maybe if I jog more around the neighborhood, I will get to know my neighbors a little more, even if it’s just a courteous hello wave.

So, tonight after Bible study, we showed some videos from YouTube on the projection screen. For some reason, this has happened in the past two Bible studies. Maybe this can be some weird kind of thing we do everytime. It’s kinda fun sometimes, especially when the videos are pretty funny. Hopefully, we can keep finding good stuff to show.

Here are some of the videos we showed tonight:

The title for the blog was taken from the Office video.

Upset Special?

Today, UF will play host to my UCF. Hopefully, UCF can pull out the upset, being as how my other two teams, the Dolphins and the Hurricanes lost this past week. Oh, well, the Heat are still NBA Champs. ^_^

I really hope UCF can win, because I know too many people at UF, and I have definetely done my share of UF bashing over the years. Good times…

Tonight was fun. Chilled at Terry and Emily’s place with Nick and Jessie. I am really started to see how old I am getting. Our night of hanging out ended at 10 pm. 10 pm!!! We used to go out at 10 pm back in the day. Oh well.

Two CDs I want to get are the new ones from Chris Tomlin and New Found Glory. I know, that is a weird combo, worship and punk-rock. What can I say? I like ’em both. Speaking of which, the Chris Tomlin site is pretty sweet.  Also, if you preorder the CD, you can get some free stuff, like a t-shirt or an autographed CD cover.

Alright Knights, don’t fail me. UCF, LET’S GO KNIGHTS!!!

If UCF loses, don’t expect me to be talking much about it.

Back (alright!)

Back in Florida. Cali was great! Beaches, mountains, Chinatowns, and many many many Chinese meals…just to name a few things from the trip. Pics to come, as soon as Deb gets them online.

Did you guys see the video on the Jiffy Lube scam yet? Pretty crazy. Never trusted those mechanics…

Julianne once had tracts stolen from her car while getting an oil change. TRACTS!!! Well, hopefully they will read it and repent.

Now I have to fold laundry. Good-bye.
